Second flashmob in Poland

On the 23rd of April 2010 the INCLUSO group, armed with flipchart paper and markers, marched to the Krakow city centre to invite people to a drawing-guessing game. This action was much more interactive than the previous one. The participants had to not only perform, but also interact with other people and attract them to the game. They felt a little nervous, but the event turned out to be a success. The group managed to involve even foreign turists! The action was, again, planned and prepared 100% online, on the Ning platform.

On the 12th of March 2010 the Polish INCLUSO group organised a flashmob in Krakow (see the definition of flashmob here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashmob). The ideal was to mop the surface of the Small Market and that is why we named the action "flashmop". The event was fully organised online - on chat, Ning network and Gadu-Gadu communicator. The event itself was about 20 minutes long and it was filmed all way trough. The footage got edited and broadcasted on YouTube. The video can be watched at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeS-gkXT3Uk.

INCLUSO winter workshop

On the 5th and 6th of February 2010 we organised a workshop for all the INCLUSO participants form Krakow and Chorzow. The goal of the meeting was to summarise all the activities realised within the pilot so far and to plan the future of the project. We have been experiencing some troubles to perform social events planned online, so we decided to move on and find some other ideas. After some brainstorming, we decided to go for:

"Immersive" does not mean "attractive"

Some time ago the Polish INCLUSO participants moved form an online forum to the Ning platform, as they wanted to use a more attractive tool. Apparently, they do not care that much about the immersiveness of social software. After several months they claimed the forum to have been simplier but much clearer at easier to follow. They said they preferred discussing on the online forum to communication on Ning, although the latter allowed for uploading pictures, movies, adding comments etc.

Two girls from Chorzow have been awarded for being the most active online participants of the INCLUSO project. Natalia and Ewa have been given the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful European cities - Prague. Their four-day-trip will last until the 10th of November. We are looking forward to seeing the photo gallery from the trip on the Ning platform.

The Polish INCLUSO group has started working on an ecological project called "My world - my business". The young people have been given a set of tasks to be completed (including a short film, a song, a photo-collage, a poster, a leaflet). They will be working on the tasks in small groups and sharing their work-in-progress results on the Ning platform. They also plan to involve in their activities people form their local communities. Participants strive for a creative approach, as they want to go beyond the "school-like" cliche of an ecological project.

Polish INCLUSO on Ning

Starting from September 2009 the INCLUSO participants will be working on the Ning platform. Before they were using an online forum based on PHP-Nuke. The forum was quite a good tool for cooperation, but it worked alright only for the most active participants. The others needed definitely a more immersive and attractive platform. That is why the project team went for Ning.

The first Polish INCLUSO face-to-face meeting took place in Krakow on the 5th and 6th of June 2009. It gathered 35 young people, as well as the staff working for INCLUSO. Most of the participants had not known each other prior to the pilot, so they were waiting for the meeting impatiently, looking forward to seeing their colleagues in real life.
